This piece although simple & not amazing as it may be, it's quite interesting for me because first, it combines some nice concepts like, music, passion and my interests in general, and also because of the cheery atmosphere.

It can be interpreted as many ideas, but for me it's about how everything sort of revolves (actually, in my world) around music and represents this stage of my life in which I'm experimenting a lot of new things and meeting awesome inspirational people.

With this piece I also learned how art truly represents the artist, even the most sublte details tell something, like the way I called the piece "Dance of the Droplets" because at this point I feel like dancing and swirling and so is the drawing.
I had also fun creating it because I really took it very slow, step by step in order to focus and see what I truly wanted to convey.
I modified some things in paint after I scanned it, hope you can relate ;)

This is BEAUTIFUL! And great description . . . really agree about the bit about the pieces revolving around the artist. That's what I tried to capture in mine as well, though not in a cheery way. :) I love this. Thank you for sharing!

Yeah, I think both our works are very similar, because of the symetry implied and the hub/center of attraction. We just captured it differently. I'll send you something else I did once, a painting of similar style (in fact, I had it on dA for a while but I think I removed it ) Anyway, you sort of awakened the interest for painting abstract again! I might retake it and submit a few decent shots of them (if I manage to take some time for it).
Thanks!

Ironically, you did the same thing for me! :) I'm definitely feeling like doing something like that again if I can find a place to start.

who was he?

He was a painter who had a condition called synesthesia which meant when he heard loud noises, he saw colours and he painted what he saw. His paintings are very abstract and colourful and some of them have a similar layout to your picture.

You know, they say that he was such a neat painter, he could paint in a dinner suit and go out straight afterwards :giggle:

Look him up! Wassily Kandinsky - I love his work :D
